Part 1: Nusaiba r.a (Ummu Ammara r.a)
Our Women are our Motivation if they knew their status in this Religion of faith.
“From where can anyone get courage like you, O Umm Ammarah (r.a)?”
Acknowledged the Prophet Muhammad (sws) on the courage, determination, and strength of Nusaiba r.a. The first woman among the two to swear allegiance to Allah (swt) and Rasoolallah (sws) during the Bai'ah of Baithul Aqabah, of The second delegation of 72 Men and 2 women from Madeena who came to Prophet Muhammad (sws) and took Shahadah.
Later on in the history of Islam, one can come across this great personality courageously and actively participating in Five important Wars in Islam Uhud, Al-Hudaybiya, Hunayn, Khaybar, and the battle of Yamama.
Narrations mention that during the battle of Uhud She repelled any attack upon The Prophet (sws) and HE (sws) asked one of the men to give her his shield since she, with all her power, was fighting furiously unprotected.
Despite her twelve major wounds, with one that took a year to heal, she profusely maintained her strength and continued fighting. Omar bin Khattab (r.a) says that the Prophet SAW once told him in the battle of Uhud that whenever he (Mohammed SAW) turned, whether to the right or to the left, he saw Umm Ammara (r.a) fighting to defend him. Despite seeing her own son injured and bleeding, she bandaged his arm and told him to NEVER STOP, never lose courage and continue with the attack on the enemy. Her family's heroism and courage earned them a place in paradise. The prophet SAW said:
“O, Allah! Make this family my friends in paradise.”
She not only fought alone rather she fought along with her Husband, an she also prepared her children in this path and was never worried about their worldly life when it came to sacrificing them in the path of Allah. It was her son Habib bin Zaid (r.a) who was killed by the Fake Prophet Musailimathul Kazzab when he was sent to ask Musailimah to come to Islam. But Musailimah rejected and killed Son of Nusaiba r.a in the very brutal manner one can describe.
Still, she was not shaken in her Eeman and in her age of 60 she took part in the battle against Musailimah along with her son Abdullah bin Zaid r.a during the Caliphate of Abu Bakr r.a. Eleven injuries and a cut off arm were the cost of this battle to Nusaiba r.a. Even in this pain, she rejoiced over the death of Musailimah, this shows her determination towards the Spirit of Jihad.
Islāmic Woman has left very deep traces of physical and mental participation in the path of Allah against the enemies of Islam which today our Mothers and Sisters have to adopt upon themselves.
